Sci-Tech Complex Focuses Research Forces on Improving Information Service

Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- True to the decisions of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the officials, scientists and technicians of the Sci-Tech Complex in the DPRK redouble their efforts to make progress in improving the country's information service.

They developed a general information service system for a provincial sci-tech library and applied it to libraries in some provinces. And preparations for establishing in ministries and national institutions a system for getting electronic data for a server are well under way.

The complex further strengthens the creative cooperation with the relevant departments and intensifies the discussion and technical consultation with libraries in the relevant regions in order to resolve in time various problems arising in attaining the research goals.

Steps are taken to give a short course for passing on the technical issues for the introduction of the system for getting the electronic data for a server. -0-
