Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- True to the idea of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Chaek University of Technology in the DPRK is pushing ahead with the work to train more scientific and technological talents in a development-oriented way.
The university has taken measures to further strengthen the political and ideological education and the system of training prodigies, propel the construction of research-type university and A-class discipline and improve the teaching management system in conformity with the pedagogical requirement of the new era.
Its faculties and departments have pushed ahead with the work to renovate the curriculums for raising the cognitive effect of students, rationally set the times according to types of teaching, and develop subjects of ultra-modern and cross-disciplinary sciences and work out teaching syllabi on them.
The work to apply advanced educational contents to the teaching of subjects and improve the quality of textbooks and videos is also under way.
The enthusiasm for putting the educational contents on a practical, comprehensive and modern basis of higher level and creating effective and superior educational methods is gaining momentum.
The university is also stepping up the work to improve the educational conditions and environment and raise the teachers' qualifications and ability.
Meanwhile, it has provided favorable conditions for the teachers and researchers to simultaneously ensure the educational and research work and for the students and postgraduate students to take part in the study of specialized subjects and scientific research. -0-
