West Coast Exchange, North Korea Watcher Conference, Sept. 2026

Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- Officers and men of the heroic Korean People's Army (KPA), who have reliably guaranteed the victorious advance of the Juche cause with arms under the guidance of the great Party Central Committee, significantly celebrate the 60th anniversary of the presentation of the slogan "A-match-for-a-hundred". President Kim Il Sung visited the Taedoksan Post on the forefront on February 6, Juche 52 (1963) and put forward the slogan "A-match-for-a-hundred" before the People's Army. It was a historic event that opened up an epochal turn in the development of the revolutionary armed forces in line with the lawful requirements of the Juche-based army building. The might of the KPA had grown stronger day by day under the wise guidance of the President who advanced the five-point training policy for strengthening the People's Army into a cadre army and a modern matchless army and indicated the clear orientation and ways for firmly preparing all its officers and men as a-match-for-a-hundred combatants at the 10th Plenary Meeting of the 5th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. His cause of army building had been successfully carried forward and developed under the energetic guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il. On the historic day 60 years ago, Kim Jong Il visited the Taedoksan Post in company with Kim Il Sung and clearly indicated the revolutionary essence of the slogan put forward by the President and the ways for its implementation. The Chairman firmly consolidated the fighting efficiency of the KPA while resolutely smashing the moves of the anti-Party, counterrevolutionary elements who challenged the military line of our Party and defending the President's idea of a-match-for-a-hundred in every way. Under the outstanding and tested leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, the peerlessly illustrious commander, the slogan "A-match-for-a-hundred", the precious baton for building the Juche-based army, is more brilliantly shining as the eternal milestone of victory of the People's Army. Kim Jong Un set forth the unique army-building line and policies, including the programme for modeling the whole army on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and the four-point policy on building a powerful army and ushered in a golden age of bolstering up the military capabilities. Thanks to the tireless efforts and devotion of the General Secretary who energetically led the development of strategic weapons of Juche under the banner of the great line of simultaneously developing the two fronts, the "March 18 revolution", the "July 4 revolution", the July 28 miraculous victory and the "great November event" following the "thermonuclear storm in September" were made one after another and, in the end, the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force was achieved. The great success in the test-fire of Hwasongpho-17, a new-type ICBM of the DPRK strategic force, on November 18, 2022 is a solemn declaration of the unshakable will of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to respond with nuke for nuke and an all-out confrontation for an all-out confrontation in order to deal with the reckless confrontation moves of the enemies. It is also a special event and a great national-historic auspicious event that demonstrated to the whole world the real might of the world military power which steadily bolsters up the most powerful and absolute nuclear deterrence.
