Standardization of Sign Language and Its Dissemination

The tenth meeting of the Evaluation Committee of the Korean Sign Language has recently been held in the form of online conference under the auspices of the Central Committee of the Korea Federation for the Care of Persons with Disabilities.Attended by the officials of the Korean Association of Deaf and Dumb, Association of Interpreters of Korean Sign Language and Education Commission and teachers of provincial schools for persons with hearing impairment, the meeting evaluated about 200 newly-invented words and phrases of sign language.  The meeting served as an important occasion for standardizing the Korean sign language and disseminating it in a unified way and for rendering convenience to those with hearing impairment.
