Schoolchildren from across country start expedition of 1,000-ri journey for learning

Exemplary schoolchildren from across the country started an expedition of the 1,000-ri journey for learning on the occasion of the centenary anniversary of the 1,000-ri journey for learning made by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.
They will leave Phophyong and march along the course of 1,000-ri associated with the noble footprints of Kim Il Sung before arriving at Mangyongdae, the sacred place of the revolution.
They held a meeting at the education yard in front of the bronze statue of Kim Il Sung at the Phophyong Revolutionary Site on the 16th.
Present at the meeting were Ri Tu Song, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Thae Il, Chief Secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Party Committee, officials concerned, officials of the youth league and marchers.
The participants laid a floral basket before the bronze statue of Kim Il Sung and paid a tribute to him.
A report was made by Mun Chol, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League.
The reporter said:
The 1,000-ri journey made by Generalissimo Kim Il Sung was the meaningful one during which he had good ideological and moral qualities and qualifications as a great revolutionary and peerless patriot; it was the immortal journey that witnessed his sacred struggle to achieve the independence of the country and build a powerful country.
The current march will be an important occasion of fully displaying the strong mind, resourcefulness and firm will of the schoolchildren to understand the patriotic will and noble revolutionary spirit of Kim Il Sung reflected on the 1,000-ri road and firmly succeed to the generation of Juche revolution under the leadership of the Party, the reporter stressed.
Then, there were speeches.
The marchers left Phophyong.
They were warmly sent off by officials, working people and schoolchildren in Kim Hyong Jik County.
