Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- The South Phyongan Provincial Designing Institute of the DPRK marked its 70th founding anniversary.
On March 17, Juche 42 (1953), President Kim Il Sung saw to it that the then South Phyongan Provincial Designing Office was established with the designing of capital construction as its mission, foreseeing the victorious future amid the flames of the Fatherland Liberation War, and indicated the orientation and ways for the office's development.
President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il personally examined the master plan for the construction of Phyongsong City and gave precious instructions on designing the city well as befits a satellite city of the capital city.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ushered in a great heyday of construction in the era of the Workers' Party to realize the people's dreams and ideals as early as possible. He paid deep attention to the work for consolidating the material and technical foundations of all the provincial designing institutes and energetically guided them to steer the development of Korean-style socialist civilization.
Over the past years, the institute has completed in a responsible manner designs needed for various sectors of the national economy, including the construction projects of revolutionary sites, major building projects and rural housing construction, thus making a positive contribution to renewing the regional appearance and developing the economy and improving the people's living standards.
A meeting took place on March 17 to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the institute.
