Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Young people in the agricultural field are turning low-yielding areas of the country into fertile land.
The central committee of the youth league carried out organizational work so that all rural youth workteams and sub-workteams contribute to boosting the per-hectare yield in low-yield areas and thus achieving the simultaneous and balanced growth of grain production.
Members of youth workteams and sub-workteams across the country have turned out in the campaign to boost the yield in farming at low-yield areas.
The youth sub-workteam of the Muksi Farm in Kujang County of North Phyongan Province has produced large amounts of self-made fertilizer and huminite, and other young people in the province are striving to increase the per-hectare grain yield.
Young people in North Hamgyong and South Hamgyong provinces are working hard to fulfill their role as masters responsible for the granary of the country.
The Ssangsan Farm in Tanchon City and the Sogok Farm in Sinhung County are working hard to spread dozens of tons of compost and more than 400 tons of huminite and manure to low-yielding areas.
In parallel with stone-removing and ploughing, young people in Kim Chaek City and Hoeryong City are applying high-quality organic fertilizer and slaked lime to fields where farming conditions are unfavorable.
Young people in Pyongyang and Kaesong cities, including the township farm in Kangdong County and the Rimhan Farm in Phanmun District, are turning the low-yielding farms into high-yielding ones. -0-
