DPRK Premier Inspects Several Sectors of National Economy

Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected various sectors of the national economy. At the Ryongsong Machine Complex and the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, he encouraged officials and workers in their efforts to make innovative successes in the production of custom-built equipment and Juche iron, true to the resolutions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Party. He called upon officials to meticulously conduct the work, bearing in mind the tasks of the complexes in carrying out the important policies of the Party, and channel efforts into the work with scientists and technicians to ensure quality and speed in the production and the project for putting production processes on a Juche basis and take thorough measures for supplying materials. Going round the Ranam Coal Mining Machine Factory and the Kyongsong Insulator Factory, he stressed the need to set a bold goal as required by the Party's policies and achieve remarkable successes in the production of various kinds of machines, electric equipment and insulators. He toured farms in several cities and counties, including Hamhung City and Hamju County of South Hamgyong Province and Kyongsong County of North Hamgyong Province. He called for manuring and cultivating preceding crops wheat and barley and sowing in a qualitative way as required by science and technology by mobilizing all forces, means and potentials and concentrating efforts on the supply of farming materials. Learning in detail about the situation of Ryonpho and Jungphyong greenhouse farms, he underscored the need to steadily raise the level of putting the greenhouse vegetable production on a scientific and intensive basis, expand the vegetable variety and improve the management method so as to keep the vegetable production at a high rate. The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of holding fast to ensuring the quality of products as the top priority task in all sectors and units, the issue of putting the immediate farming operations and work on a scientific and technological basis including sowing in conformity with the characteristics of species at farms and the issue of supplying enough farming materials to the greenhouse farms. Earlier, the premier discussed the issues arising in carrying out the task for production of custom-built equipment at the Taean Heavy Machine Complex and visited the Ice Rink to learn about its remodeling and take relevant measures.
