The expedition formed with exemplary schoolchildren from across the country on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the 1,000-ri journey for learning made by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung arrived at his home village Mangyongdae, a sacred place of the revolution.
After leaving Phophyong of Ryanggang Province on the 16th, it crossed the Ogasan Pass of Jagang Province and marched to Kaechon of South Phyongan Province via Hwaphyong, Kanggye, Jonchon and Hyangsan. It arrived in the capital Pyongyang by train on the 29th.
The expeditionists were warmly welcomed by citizens and school youth and children along the streets from the Pyongyang Railway Station to Mangyongdae.
A meeting for announcing their arrival at Mangyongdae was held at the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School.
Present there were Kim Su Gil, Chief Secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, youth league officials and expeditionists.
Before the meeting, the participants laid a floral basket at the bronze statues of the great leaders Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the school and paid tribute to them.
Mun Chol, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report, which was followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers said the expedition could arrive at Mangyongdae after successfully winding up the 1,000-ri journey entirely thanks to the warm loving care of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who always paid deep attention to the expedition of schoolchildren and kindly looked after them step by step.
They stressed that the recent expedition served as a significant occasion which enabled them to have a deep understanding of the lofty intention and ardent patriotism of Kim Il Sung who made the 1,000-ri journey of revolution in his teens and harden their burning pledge to firmly carry on the baton of the Juche revolution following Kim Jong Un.
A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
