Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in various economic sectors and units, who have turned out in the struggle to attain the 12 major goals for national economic development , have registered successes in production.
The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex has fulfilled the monthly production plans, and other metal factories and enterprises are promoting the projects of putting the production processes on a Juche basis, while carrying out the current production plans for iron and steel.
The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex is increasing the fertilizer production and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex is boosting the fertilizer output by enlisting reserves which can produce tens of more tons of fertilizer than planned.
Officials and workers of thermal power plants in the country have increased the electric-power production in the spirit of self-reliance and by dint of science and technology.
Workers of Hochongang, Jangjingang and Sodusu power stations, too, have carried out their daily plans through the ways of operation by a high water level and a high degree of efficiency.
Coal mines across the country are raising the tunneling speed by applying advanced blasting methods suited to lithology conditions and by solving the shortages of parts and materials.
The forestry sector has made strides in the work to fulfill the yearly plan for timber production.
Officials and workers in the sector of railway transport are making effective use of the existing transport capacity through establishment of a unified dispatcher control system, reduction of staying time of wagons and scrupulous arrangement of locomotives and wagons.
The fishery stations on the west coast are increasing fish catches. -0-
