Igori Kortchenko, editor-in-chief of the Russian magazine Bezopasnosty Oborony and military expert, said at an interview with Ria Novosti on March 28 that the DPRK gained a status as the major military giant in the field of missile and nuclear weapon.
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea made unprecedented progress in the missile and nuclear programme, and thus actually gained a status as a major military giant in this field.
Pyongyang is now working to mass-produce all the latest weapons it recently tested. From this point of view, the DPRK is up to the standard of modern military giant in the field of missile and nuclear weapons at least.
Its defence industry sector is building its capacity and making preparations to carry out tasks assigned by its leadership.
Despite protracted sanctions, the DPRK has made unheard-of successes in industrial and scientific sectors.
Given that it developed the mobile ICBM system with its own efforts which can strike the US, I can understand that the DPRK’s defence industry sector has made rapid progress. The country possesses new-type nuclear weapon carriers including the system similar to the Status-6 system (underwater drone “Poseidon”).
It is wrong to think that Pyongyang is going to start a war first over the DPRK’s missile and nuclear programme.
The army building of the country assumes deterrent character.
Regrettably, an objective view on the DPRK fails to prevail among us.
In actuality, however, they are very responsible people with a sound cognitive faculty.
They regard checking of the acts of aggression by the US, Japan and south Korea as the main goal of their nuclear programme.
As the DPRK is building its capacity and making preparations for mounting nuclear strike to deter aggression, those who want to invade the country will not dare to do so.
