Taekwon-Do permeated with the spirit and soul of the Korean nation is a good exercise guaranteeing people’s health and longevity.
The health-promoting Taekwon-Do was created by putting together the movements especially helpful to the health of the Korean people out of thousands of its technical movements with an eye to developing the whole body.
According to research findings, when you perform Taekwon-Do movements for about three minutes to the tune of light music, the pulse rate will go up to 150-180 beats per minute.
Such training load is the equivalent of that borne when running or skating at the maximum speed.
The health-promoting Taekwon-Do is good for the heart and the vascular and respiratory systems.
The normal heart rate per day is 100 000 beats, but it becomes 190 000 when you do Taekwon-do exercise.
It facilitates the supply of a large quantity of nutrients to all organs and cells and strengthens the heart muscle.
It also increases lung capacity.
When you grow old, the functions of brain cell drop and so your reaction speed decreases and your memory gets weaker.
When you perform the health-promoting Taekwon-Do to suit your physique, the brain cell is rejuvenated.
It is also helpful to treating diseases.
It increases the elasticity of blood vessels, reduces the content of sugar and neutral fat in blood and controls blood pressure. Therefore, it helps treat such hypokinetic diseases as diabetes, obesity and senile arteriosclerosis.
