Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- The reclamation of tideland is the patriotic work of lasting significance for expanding the territory and a bright prospect for increased grain production is found in tideland farming, says Rodong Sinmun in an editorial on Saturday.
Stressing that it is the consistent policy of the Workers' Party of Korea to push ahead with the reclamation of tideland on a large scale, the editorial says:
During the hard-fought war when the destiny of the country was at stake, President Kim Il Sung organized a tideland survey group and gave origin to the grand transformation of nature for the eternal prosperity of the country.
The undying feats of Chairman Kim Jong Il who wisely led the struggle to increase the eternal wealth of the country including the reclamation of Taegyedo Tideland in order to translate the noble desire of the President into a brilliant reality are recorded in the history of the country.
Today, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un unfolds a gigantic blueprint for tideland reclamation and energetically leads the struggle to carry it into practice, true to the grand plan of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for transforming nature.
Our Party clearly set the long-term objectives for tideland reclamation and clarified in detail the tasks and ways for dynamically pushing forward the reclamation project by mobilizing all the manpower and material resources of the country.
To push ahead with the tideland reclamation as a state important affair is an honorable and worthwhile struggle to completely solve the food problem for people in the near future and hand down better land to the coming generations.
