Everything is satisfactorily provided for conducting mass sports activities at the modernly-built Educational Books Printing Plant.
It is the balmy spring. Workshops hold fierce volleyball games in the outdoor volleyball ground in the compound of the plant after lunch.
Shortly ago, there was a final game of employees between printing and bookbinding workshops that are good at volleyball amid the interest of all employees.
The match was very fierce since the two teams demonstrated their high techniques and perseverance in order to win the first place.
The printing workshop was not depressed by losses, but joined efforts and exerted themselves, while the bookbinding workshop continued to mount attack without slackening their attack. The seesaw match gave spectators a thrill.
Whenever their team players scored a point, they shouted for joy beating drums and gongs to rock the compound of the plant.
The battle ended in favour of the printing workshop. Players and rooters of the winning team were filled with joy.
“Though we lost in today’s match as we slackened the tension for having led the opponent in the first half, we will surely be the winner in the next match,” said Hong Jong Nam, player of the bookbinding workshop.
Employees play each game tenaciously at the modern gymnasium where basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis courts are arranged harmoniously.
An official of the plant said that the gym is full of employees who are fond of sports even on holidays or rest days and basketball, table tennis and badminton games between workshops and between workteams are a sight to behold. Amid the ever-growing enthusiasm for mass sports, the health of employees are promoted and every employee overflows with delight and optimism, he added.
“I thought I could feel refreshed only by a nap at lunchtime. But as I began to play ping pong by yielding to the pestering of my colleagues, I felt really invigorated. Though I was physically inactive in the past, I can’t skip table tennis even a day. I am really surprised to see my present self,” said worker Pak Yong Jin.
Its employees unanimously say that brisk mass sports activities strengthen their spirit of collectivism and unity with which everyone helps and leads one another forward and enable them to achieve good results in production.
