Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Officials, forecasters and scientists of the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, the Agricultural Commission and the Academy of Agricultural Science in the DPRK direct efforts to steadily improving the scientific accuracy and practicality of the forecast of crop growth.
The State Hydro-meteorological Administration, in contact with meteorological observation units across the country, has intensified the detailed control and analysis of agricultural weather conditions such as mean air temperature, precipitation, sunshine ratio, soil humidity and water temperature of paddy fields while making a deep study of the future agro-meteorological conditions.
Officials and scientists of the Academy of Agricultural Science have come up with a scientific methodology for coping with the disastrous abnormal weather and difficulties in a far-sighted way in each period of farming processes.
The Agricultural Commission, in cooperation with the State Hydro-meteorological Administration and the Academy of Agricultural Science, is ensuring the promptness and accuracy of the information system so that the crop growth forecast can help minimize damage by disastrous abnormal weather.
The data of crop growth forecast concerning each period of farming processes contribute to putting farming on a scientific basis. -0-
