Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the agricultural sector in South and North Hwanghae Provinces and Kaesong City.
At a number of farms in different regions including Paechon, Kangryong, Ongjin, Kumchon and Jangphung Counties he met agricultural workers to learn in detail about how the immediate farming process is promoted. He said the officials in the field of agriculture should give full play to the revolutionary enthusiasm of the masses and give guidance to the farming in every process with responsibility, deeply aware of the importance of their mission in this year's farming.
He emphasized that the farms should concentrate all efforts on finishing the rice-transplantation qualitatively in the right time, manure and cultivate well wheat, barley, potato and other earlier crops to maximize their yield and make full preparations for harvesting.
The consultative meetings held on the spot took relevant measures after discussing the issue for the officials of agricultural guidance organs at all levels to carry out the operation and command of farming in a scientific and technological way and the issue on promoting in a prospective way the work to choose and actively introduce proper seeds according to the local characteristics and climatic conditions.
Premier Kim also looked round the site of project for desalinating the Lake Kangryong to learn about the problems arising in the project and took relevant measures.
