June 1 is the International Children’s Day.

Greeting this day, our people are looking back with deep emotion on the benevolent measure taken by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea two years ago. With the parental love for all children across the country, he saw to it that the state provides them with nutritious foodstuff – dairy products included – on a regular basis and at the state’s expense.

It was in June 2021, well into the global COVID-19 pandemic, when our Party took the decision on improving and strengthening the childcare policy at the 3 rd Plenary Meeting of the 8 th Central Committee of the WPK, a meeting that was meant for discussions on matters of vital importance to the Party and state.

At the meeting, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that no other revolutionary work is more important than upbringing of our children sound and healthy, for they are the very future of the country. He continued to note that it is the policy of paramount importance and keen desire for our Party and state to provide our children with improved nurturing environment, even it may mean at astronomical expenses.

It is not as easy as it sounds for a country to provide all children in the country, not just a few of them, with dairy products and other nutritious foods on a regular basis, despite the difficulties that the country is facing.

However, it is the noble intention of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un that children will breathe life and vitality into our society in 20 or 30 years’ time and the power of our Republic will gain as much strength, if they are well fed in their infancy and grow up healthy.

Our Party’s childcare policy is indeed a policy of love that can only be initiated by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who loves children as much as President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il did, for they had also regarded children as the kings and queens, and the treasures of the country.

Since the day when the measure of love was taken, dairy products and nutritious foods are being produced and provided regularly to all children across the country every single day, telling of the warm love of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for children .

It is said that a mother’s love for her children grows even stronger when faced with hard times.

In the year 2022, our country faced the worst emergency pandemic crisis which may as well be called the greatest turmoil since its founding of the country. Even in those days, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave top priority to the issue of supplying infant formula and rice powder before medicines, food, cooking fuel and subsidiary food badly needed for those in quarantine.

I got to know how deeply His Excellency Kim Jong Un loves children. Under his warm care and solicitude, children in Korea are leading a happy life. They are truly blessed children of the world and I have witnessed the height of love for posterity.

Under the warm care of our great Party, the laughter and singing of our children will resound through this land for generations to come.
