A gratifying scene of vegetables is unfolding at the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm.
According to statistics, the farm produced a large quantity of vegetables, including cucumber, tomato, hot pepper and bok choy, in less than three years after its inauguration, thereby contributing greatly to improving the dietary life of people in North Hamgyong Province.
The farm correctly distributed varieties and widely introduced a double cultivation method while all farming processes like seedling production and manuring and cultivation were conducted according to technical regulations so as to increase per-hectare yield.
It paid attention to diversifying varieties of vegetable crops and introducing good species. And it provided a guarantee for increasing the proportion of different kinds of tasteful and nutritious fruit vegetables in collaboration with researchers in relevant sectors.
This year, employees of the farm have manured and tended vegetables as required by science and technology and paid special attention to temperature change to strictly ensure growth conditions.
Hydroponic greenhouses observe technical regulations according to the growth stages of crops and supply nutritive solution and control temperature and humidity in a scientific and technological way so as to mass-produce fruit and leaf vegetables including cucumber, tomato, crown daisy, lettuce and bok choy. Since an efficient irrigation method has been introduced, soil greenhouses raise per-unit area yield by manuring and tending crops according to such processes as the application of a rational watering method, additional fertilizer and agrochemicals.
Meanwhile, it has introduced dense cultivation and shelf cultivation to improve the intensive level of vegetable production and revitalize production. After distributing tasteful and nutritive species according to types of greenhouses and cultivation period, it has put manuring and cultivation on a sci-tech basis.
As a result, different kinds of vegetables put out fresh leaves in all the greenhouse blocks.
