Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- The 26th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Friday. Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the SPA, presided over the meeting. Attending the meeting were Vice-chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol, Secretary General Ko Kil Son and other members of the SPA Standing Committee. Present as observers were officials concerned of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions. Agenda items included the issue of amending and supplementing the Law of the DPRK on Land Administration Planning, the Law on Tideland Reclamation, the Law on Supplying Drinking Water and the Law on Sewage Treatment and the issue of recalling and electing judges of the Central Court of the DPRK. There was a report on the basic contents of draft laws deliberated at the Legislation Committee of the SPA. Newly stipulated in the Law on Land Administration Planning and the Law on Tideland Reclamation are the issue of putting land administration planning on a scientific and IT basis by introducing new scientific and technological achievements into the land administration planning sector, the issue of regulating the institution for examining the master plan for land development and the application for land development and resources development and the issues arising in dynamically pushing forward the tideland reclamation, including study and design of tideland, supply of equipment and materials and survey of tideland, as a nationwide undertaking. The relevant parts of the Law on Supplying Drinking Water stipulating the contents related to basic principle of the law, construction and management of drinking water facilities and production, supply and use of domestic water were subdivided and elaborated, and articles of the Law on Sewage Treatment related to the management of the sewage treatment facilities and the disposal of waste water were amended and supplemented. The plenary meeting studied and deliberated the agenda items and adopted such decrees of the SPA Standing Committee as "On amending and supplementing the Law of the DPRK on Land Administration Planning", "On amending and supplementing the Law of the DPRK on Tideland Reclamation", "On amending and supplementing the Law of the DPRK on Supplying Drinking Water" and "On amending and supplementing the Law of the DPRK on Sewage Treatment". Judges of the Central Court of the DPRK were recalled and elected at the meeting.
