Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Thanks to the special care deeper than an ocean shown by the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who has put forward the children of revolutionary martyrs as true successors to the Korean revolution and led them with warm care in every aspect of their work, the students of revolutionary schools significantly celebrated the 77th founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union (KCU).
The 2023 sports contest of revolutionary schools took place from June 4 to 6 on the occasion of the KCU birthday.
The contest brought together players selected from Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, Nampho Revolutionary School and Saenal Revolutionary School, which are reliable bases for training reserve backbone for firmly carrying forward the Juche revolution.
Among the audience were officials of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and armed forces organs and teaching staff and students of revolutionary schools.
The contest was divided into 14 events including football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, tug of war, shooting, swimming and relay.
The children came out to the sports field with the pride of giving full play to their hope and talents amid the deep trust and expectation of the Party and the people. They fully displayed the team spirit and unity while playing fair games.
Drawing the audience's attention were military games that showed the daring spirit of the children preparing themselves as reserve military talents capable of substantially contributing to bolstering up the revolutionary armed forces.
Amid the joy and optimism of children playing colorful amusement games, the tug of war reached its climax.
In the contest, Mangyongdae Revolutionary School came first in schoolboys' category and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School in schoolgirls' category.
There was a prize-awarding ceremony amid the enthusiastic applause of participants.
The 2023 sports contest of revolutionary schools showed well the passion and mettle of the children of revolutionary martyrs who are growing up to be pillars guaranteeing the eternal prosperity of the Juche cause under the care of the great sun. It added to the conviction in the bright future of the DPRK where the essential artery of the revolution is given steady continuity. -0-
