The South Phyongan provincial bureau of land and environment protection and management works to dramatically improve the roads in the province.
The province set itself the target of completely transforming this year the roads leading to Tokchon, Kaechon, Unsan and Pukchang, especially the Kangdong-Hoechang road.
According to its plan, the management bureau intensifies guidance over preparations made in cities and counties.
It rebuilt and repaired several road sections last year to contribute greatly to the economic development of the region and promoting the people’s convenience in living. By drawing on the experience, it has organized construction forces, taken measures for the supply of materials and increased the proportion of the work done by machines.
The bureau also channels big efforts into the management of roads.
Anju and Sunchon cities and Sukchon County maintain and repair roads in charge according to their plans and review and assess their work on a regular basis.
In spring, Phyongsong and Sunchon cities planted many zelkova trees as street ornamentals.
Similar efforts are being made by other cities and counties of the province.
