Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- Among the anti-Japanese fighters of Korea are a large number of women, who turned out in the sacred struggle to liberate the country with their intense loyalty to President Kim Il Sung, firm confidence in the victory of the revolution, and love for the country and the people.

Those anti-Japanese women fighters had fought bloody battles to liberate the country with arms in their hands under the care of Kim Il Sung, the great sun, for many years. They are women heroes and the first generation of women revolutionaries in Korea, to be always remembered by the country and to be followed by the people forever.

The noble life of an anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk, who made immortal contributions to the country and the revolution as a ray of the great sun, serves as a model of the genuine life for the people and servicepersons in the DPRK.

She devotedly safeguarded the headquarters of the revolution in every battle of the hard-fought anti-Japanese war, and her noble image as an eternal bodyguard is still kept deep in the hearts of the Korean people.

One of those women fighters, Hwang Sun Hui had reliably defended the outpost of the revolutionary traditions till the last moments of her life with her appearance as an anti-Japanese guerrilla. She is always alive in the minds of the people as a "guerrilla grandmother", under the great loving care and trust of the peerlessly great men.

Pak Rok Gum, the first woman company commander of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA), displayed bravery and devotion in implementing the orders of the headquarters without fail. She was arrested by the enemy unexpectedly during her underground political activities, but sang the "Guerrilla March" at the last moments of her life, frightening the enemy.

Kim Hwak Sil, a woman fighter from the 7th Regiment of the KPRA, killed six enemy troops with bayonet in the battle of Fusong county town. So, she was praised as a daughter of Korea and "woman general" by the President, who gave a gold ring to her in recognition of her feats.

Those admirable women revolutionaries include Ri Kye Sun who died a heroic death, shouting "Long live General Kim Il Sung!" and "Long live the Korean revolution!" at an execution site after being arrested by the enemy, Choe Hui Suk who, though her eyes were gouged out by the enemy, shouted that the victory of the revolution is in sight, and An Sun Hwa who died a heroic death after overcoming the appeasement and torture by the enemy.

All of them were faithful to their revolutionary obligation and devoted their youth to bloody battles, not seeing the day of national liberation.

The feats, performed by the women fighters in the sacred war for national liberation, recorded in the history the philosophical principle of the revolution that the people led by the great leader are persons of idea and faith and indomitable revolutionaries who defeat even the formidable enemy, braving all difficulties with cheer.
