Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Vo Van Thuong, president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on Sept. 2
He in the message extended warm congratulations to the general secretary and the president and the party, government and people of Vietnam on the 78th birthday of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
After the birth of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Communist Party, government and people of Vietnam defended the independence and sovereignty of the country, achieved the unification cause of the country and made many successes in socialist construction, the message said, adding:
Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people are now waging a vigorous struggle for building a developed and prosperous socialist state, true to the resolution of the 13th Party Congress.
Being convinced that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and countries will further develop in conformity with the aspiration and desire of the two peoples, I wish the general secretary and the president greater successes in your responsible work for the strengthening of the party and the state and for the wellbeing of the people.
