A national exhibition of sci-tech achievements in the sectors of furniture and finishing materials took place at the Sci-Tech Complex in Pyongyang under the sponsorship of the State Commission of Science and Technology between September 13 and 19.
The event on the theme of “Better products by dint of our own resources and technologies” brought together more than 2 000 pieces of goods in over 690 kinds, which were presented by over 270 units engaged in developing and manufacturing furniture and finishing materials across the country, and displayed the products by classifying them into two sectors of furniture and finishing materials.
During the exhibition, the participating units had various technical exchanges including a sci-tech presentation and dissemination of advanced science and technology and shared and transferred good experience and advanced technologies.
Awards and diplomas were given to highly appreciated units, including Pyongyang Municipality and the Taehung Trade Guidance Bureau, and to excellent products and sci-tech plans, and relevant prizes were awarded.
The exhibition served as a significant occasion in bringing about a fresh improvement in sci-tech research and production in the furniture and finishing materials sectors as required by the times when a great golden age of construction is being ushered in, and in arousing public interest in the sectors.
