Pyongyang citizens frequent kiosks of Kumgang medicinal stone drink that can be seen in different parts of the capital city.

The Kumgang medicinal stone is a mineral which was discovered decades ago.

After being reported on the newly discovered mineral conducive to the promotion of the people’s health, President Kim Il Sung named it Kumgang medicinal stone.

It is as small as a barley corn and very strong in absorbability as it has fine holes.

It contains over 40 kinds of essential microelements, including calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and zinc, and rare earth elements.

As it absorbs a variety of pathogenic bacteria and harmful heavy metals, it  purifies drinking water and removes various impure smells from the water, markedly enhances the functions of all cells and organs in the human body, raises its resistance to diseases and its natural healing power to recover from diseases.

The Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee uses the mineral to make undiluted Kumgang medicinal stone solution conducive to the promotion of people’s health and supplies it to relevant kiosks.

The solution with a national patent is made in the form of a water-soluble organic complex compound by separating and extracting only those good for the human body from among dozens of mineral matters of the stone.

A similar kiosk in Oesong-dong of Central District in the city is also frequented by many people.

They unanimously say that the drinking water sold there is unusually clean and its taste is good and refreshing, adding that the more they drink the water, the better they feel.

Jong Mi Hwa, attendant of the kiosk, said that  an old saying goes that drinking good water enables one to live long free from diseases, adding that the recent introduction of the smaller molecular water making technology, which is an advanced drink processing method, into the drink production further improved its taste and efficacy.

As a food made with sincerity is tasty, the drink becomes tasty and fully produces its medicinal efficacy only when efforts are put into making it as required by science and technology.

The Kumgang medicinal stone drink prevents mineral deficiency caused by various reasons, improves metabolism, purifies blood and supplies oxygen to blood and is effective in preventing and treating various kinds of digestive disorders, heart disease, diabetes, neuralgia and others.

“Since I started to drink the water, I came to digest food well and my complexion glowed. My family uses it in cooking rice and soup,” said Jon Myong Su, a resident living in Oesong-dong of Central District, who had long suffered from indigestion.

Jong Mi Hwa said that almost all families drink the water at present.
