Starting on October 30, the International Trade Fair-2023 is steadily going on in the country.

According to Kim Il Hyok, section chief of the Korean International Exhibition Corporation, the international trade fair serves as a good occasion for introducing abroad the reality of the DPRK developing on the strength of self-development, introducing advanced technology and creating favourable investment environment.

The fair is held by combining virtual and spot exhibitions.

Introduced at the virtual exhibition venue are trade goods and related data from the DPRK and other countries in the form of e-document, image and video clips.

The virtual exhibition, which will last until December 30, is heating up, featuring abundance of exhibits and many-sided negotiations and exchanges.

There was a spot exhibition at the Pyongyang Underground Shop between November 22 and 30.

On display at the exhibition were over 2 700 kinds of famous goods and specialities produced in the DPRK and other countries.

On show were world-famous products in many fields such as electronics, building materials, public health, light industry and food and consumer goods industries with a competitive edge, making the show more conspicuous.

The products which were produced by introducing advanced science and technology attracted the attention of visitors.

The Minsong New Technology Development Exchange Company exhibited electric power e-device and electrical appliances needed for the modernization of the electric power system. A pressure power distribution box, control cabinet, feeder box, power conversion device and intelligent electronic device focused the attention of experts as they are very safe technically and the company provides service related to the design of the products and construction as well to meet the demands of consumers.

It also displayed knockdown building materials including the light yet strong PVC decorative plate with moisture-prevention, heat-preservation and soundproofing effects were also exhibited.

Also on show were many Korean specialities and natural products from pollution-free and beautiful mountains, fields, rivers and seas of the country.

The Kumgangsan Speciality Production Company brought out some 120 products in nine kinds including honey bee products, agricultural produce, drinks produced from natural raw materials in Mt Kumgang, a celebrated mountain of the world and pollution-free area. In particular, various health-promoting teas of third-stage processing, including those made with mulberry mushroom, Ganoderma lucidum, Inonotus and matrimony vine fruit were very popular as they preserve the characteristics and state peculiar to them and dissolve in hot water well, while maintaining the flavours and fragrances peculiar to them.

The Moranbong Ragwon Light Industrial Goods Production Company presented dozens of kinds of health-promoting foods. A standout was black broad bellflower roots made by combining advanced technology with traditional methods using the roots from Mt Kumgang. According to developers, the product is called thus since the colour of the roots changes naturally in the process of fermentation and ageing and such process helps increase the pharmaceutical active components of the roots to maximize their effects. It obtained a national patent.

The Yehung Joint Venture Company created a lifelike environment with distinctive room and kitchen furniture pieces to highlight their characters and performance.

Different forms and colours of bags, shoes, highly-efficient medicines and smart TVs were also popular.

Flower craftworks were in great demand as they were made by applying formative arts while preserving the freshness of flowers, fruits, leaves, twigs, grass and roots.
