The Ministry of Electric Power Industry installed solar panels on its building, built solar power plants with the capacity of hundreds of kW at industrial establishments in Rangnang and Taesong districts to supply electricity to various units.
The Jagang Provincial People's Committee and the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee have set up tens of micro-hydro-power generating equipment suited to the characteristics of mountainous areas and pushed ahead with the work to operate them in a practical way.
The Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and the Ministry of Coal Industry have scrupulously organized cross-production, made a detailed survey of the use of electric power equipment and made a strict demand to prevent the waste of electricity.
The Jangsan Mine, the Hungnam Electrode Factory and the Posan Iron Works have rationally distributed electric power and made sure that production units increase the efficiency to the maximum. The Chollima Steel Complex has remodeled equipment into electricity-saving ones.
The February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine and the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine have introduced efficient static capacitors to take practical measures for reducing the loss of electricity in transmission to the maximum. -0-
