Rodong Sinmun Calls for Directing Efforts to Preparations for Next Year's Farming

Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an editorial says that the officials and working people in all sectors of the DPRK including the agricultural sector are vigorously stepping up the farm preparations for next year with a sure conviction and zeal to reap rich harvest by further elevating the morale displayed in this year's farming. All Party organizations should give primary efforts to preparations for farming in order to attain the long-term objectives of agricultural development by doing next year's farming well, the editorial says, and goes on: Farming preparations are a very important process decisive of the success in agricultural production. Only when the farming preparations are made well can the prospects for increasing the agricultural production next year be opened up with courage. To make thorough preparations for farming and thus raise good crops next year is a prerequisite for solving the food problem without fail within the period of the new five-year plan and thus strengthening the fundamental motive force of the overall economic development. All the officials and working people across the country turned out as one in the drive for increased grain production in response to the call of the Workers' Party of Korea this year, regarding it as a campaign for defending the Party Central Committee and the dignity of the socialist country, and brought good results through their indomitable offensive all the year round. The Party Central Committee's intention is not only to ensure good farming in one year. To do farming well for only one year will not be greatly helpful to the complete settlement of the food problem. Only when we do farming well for several years in succession, is it possible to ensure the sustained development in agricultural production and thus translate into reality our Party’s programme for the rural revolution in the new era. The editorial stresses that the people of the DPRK are now full of faith and courage as they brought good results with hot wind of scientific and high-yielding farming this year while overcoming all unfavorable conditions.
