Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the agricultural sector in South Hwanghae Province.
He looked round a number of farms including the Samjigang Farm and the Chongchon Farm in Jaeryong County and the Muhak Farm in Sinwon County.
He said South Hwanghae Province, the biggest agricultural producer and the main granary of the country, should hold the banner in attaining the grain production goal for 2024 set by the Party. And he called on the agricultural officials and workers in the province to make efficient preparations for farming on the basis of last year's successes and experiences.
He learned in detail about the growth of winter wheat and barley and noted that it is important to bring about substantial successes from raising earlier crops by manuring and cultivating them in a scientific and technological way according to climatic conditions.
He stressed that the machine manufacturers across the country should produce more farm machines of good performance and send them to the rural communities and that the farms should carefully repair and maintain the farming equipment and decisively increase the proportion of mechanized farm work.
The consultative meeting held on the spot discussed issues for doing good farming this year and took relevant measures.
