Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- The February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine marked its 60th founding anniversary.
The mine was renowned for winning many prizes. Honored with the Order of Kim Il Sung , it won such titles as the Three-Revolution Red Flag, the "Lathe No.26" Model Machine Prize and the Model Technical Innovation Unit twice. It takes pride in its 60-year-long history, in which it has developed into the leading coal production base of the country under the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il , contributing to supporting the national economy and bringing earlier the bright future of socialism.
A meeting took place on Friday to mark the 60th founding anniversary of the coal mine.
It was attended by Jon Hyon Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Jon Hak Chol, minister of Coal Industry, Kim Jong Nam, secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, other officials concerned and employees of the coal mine.
Jon Hyon Chol conveyed a congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the workers, technicians and officials of the coal mine.
The message extended warm congratulations to all the workers, technicians and officials who marked the 60th founding anniversary of their mine after performing distinguished achievements in implementing the Party's economic line and bringing about a sustained upsurge in socialist construction by creditably carrying out the demanding coal production task with loyalty and patriotism. -0-
