Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Personages of different countries made public statements and articles to mark the birthday of Chairman Kim Jong Il , the significant February holiday.
Sylvere Boswa Isekombe, general secretary of the Communist Party of the DR Congo, said in a statement that His Excellency Kim Jong Il devoted his whole life to the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people.
Thanks to his great leadership, the national power of the DPRK could be remarkably strengthened and the eternal foundation for building a thriving nation consolidated, the statement stressed.
Vasile Orleanu, chairman of the Supreme Council of the National Socialist Party of Romania, posted on a website an article titled "Laying the foundation for building a powerful socialist country", which said that the Songun leadership of HE Kim Jong Il brought about a miraculous reality in the DPRK.
Under his leadership the Korean people brought about a turning phase in building a powerful socialist country despite the worst ordeals and difficulties, the article noted.
The secretary general of the Romanian Workers' Association in an article titled "Brilliant Commander Kim Jong Il " praised him as a great statesman possessed of extraordinary military stratagem and matchless pluck and a peerlessly brilliant commander who led the fierce confrontation with the U.S. to victory.
Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association in an article titled "Comrade Kim Jong Il , son of Mt Paektu and defender of socialist Korea" praised the Songun leadership feats of Kim Jong Il who defended the sovereignty and dignity of socialist Korea from the imperialist allied forces' obstructive moves. -0-
