Pyongyang, February 29 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music and Dance, a pedigree establishment for training talented musicians in the DPRK, is marking its 75th founding anniversary.
The 75-year history of the university is a proud period during which it has been developed into the highest seat of learning Juche-oriented musical art under the warm care of the peerlessly great persons and produced lots of talented musicians loved by the people in hearty response to the music-based policies by the Workers' Party of Korea.
Founded on March 1, Juche 38 (1949) under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung , the university has produced numerous musicians who made an active contribution during the stirring periods of postwar reconstruction and socialist construction.
Chairman Kim Jong Il personally led the university to fulfill its mission as a pedigree establishment for training revolutionary and talented reserve musicians and gave it a new name.
Under the care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , who attaches special importance to the musical art education and makes sure that the university gives firm continuity to the traditions of Juche-oriented art, the university has made new headway in perfecting its educational system and steadily developing the contents, forms and ways of education.
