Pyongyang, February 29 (KCNA) -- The Unjon Fishery Station in the DPRK has started fishing for this year, true to the Workers' Party of Korea's policy on increasing the fish production.
The station concentrated forces and means on the preparations for fishing while securing materials and accessories needed for repairing fishing vessels. It introduced more than 10 valuable technical innovation proposals to improve the performance of various kinds of machines and equipment including engine and winch.
Meanwhile, it manufactured a large-sized angle fish shaped net to update fishing equipment and improved the quality and speed of ship repair by introducing advanced metal processing and painting methods.
The station's first group of fishing boats advanced into fishing grounds on the west sea on Wednesday amid the send-off by officials in the fishery sector and the station.
Employees and families encouraged the fishermen.
Meanwhile, Jongju, Cholsan and Ryongampho fishery stations are stepping up the preparations for fishing at the final stage. -0-
