Instructions given on birthday
On February 16 Juche 82(1993), Chairman Kim Jong Il summoned a senior official of the then League of Socialist Working Youth of Korea to discuss the preparations for the eighth congress of the LSWYK.
He said that the congress should be held properly and that it should be well prepared to be a congress of single-hearted unity that would rally the young people more closely around the Workers’ Party of Korea.
After thinking for a while about whether there would be any deficiencies in the preparations of the meeting, he gave detailed instructions again on the gifts to be presented to the participants.
The meaningful time of the auspicious holiday passed as he gave such considerate instructions.
Declaration to the times
One day in October Juche 88(1999), Chairman Kim Jong Il highly praised the young people for turning out as one in response to the call of the Party and building roads and laying roadbeds at a time when the country was experiencing the greatest difficulties.
He said that the youth league is the dependable companion of the Party and has invariably thrown in its lot with the Party at all times by overcoming all manner of trials for a long time since the beginning of the Korean revolution, adding that it should follow the Party forever to accomplish the cause of the Juche revolution with credit no matter how long and arduous the road of the revolution would be.
The youth league is the dependable companion of the Party— this was a solemn declaration of history made by Kim Jong Il to the times.
