Today, Samjiyon City is transformed into the epitome of the ideal local city; a beautiful standard of a modern mountain city fully embodying the Juche-based idea of the Workers’ Party of Korea on architectural beauty and its policy on provincial construction.

Throughout the historic advance in the new century of Juche, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un unfolded a brilliant plan to completely remodel Samjiyon City in line with the needs of the times and led its execution.

When he visited the city five years ago on April 3, 2019, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that Samjiyon City holds the native home of the revolution and that it is only right for the Korean people and the coming generation, the very soldiers and students of the great leaders, to remodel Samjiyon City into a powerful educational center for revolutionary traditions and a model of a modern mountain city as their moral and revolutionary duty. He took thorough measures to provide all the manpower and materials needed for its construction.

Despite his ceaseless and strenuous 24-hour schedule, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un always found the time to visit Samjiyon City. During his visits he would always say that the Korean revolution must always move forward and will indeed keep moving forward, and that we should translate such will and truth of ours into reality here, the then Samjiyon County, thus inspiring flames of struggle and faith into the enthusiasm of the construction workers. He then led them by the hand to move on and make innovations fearlessly and ceaselessly in spite of the most difficult obstacles, standing strong and resistant against the fierce blizzards of the north.

With the warm love and dedicated efforts of his, a model of modern mountain city was proudly built in the birthplace of Chairman Kim Jong Il . It is also a model of socialist provincial construction built at the battlefield associated with the vivid traces left by the forerunners of our revolution and admired by the entire world.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un will devote his all to prosperity of the country and well-being of our people and his heartwarming devotion is now bringing about radical changes to the provinces, rural areas, workplaces, communities, mountains, plains and seaside all across the country, drawing a new map of the country with new names on it.

That is why world media reported that numerous modern dwellings and streets were built in the DPRK, Songhwa Street, Kyongru-dong residential area, Hwasong Street and Samjiyon City to be allocated free of charge to the people, an eloquent reminder of the DPRK’s welfare policy for the people.
