Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, is being turned into a world-class ideal city for the people, thanks to the grand strategy of the great Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and its devoted service day by day.
At the historic Eighth WPK Congress, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un made a courageous decision on the construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang and set it as an important goal of the new Five-Year Plan.
After unfolding a plan for building modern houses for 10 000 families every year in Pyongyang, he took a step to finish the construction of 10 000 flats in Songsin and Songhwa areas without fail in 2021, at the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.
Songhwa Street, where formative art, reciprocal connectivity and utility were introduced into architecture on a high level, is the first proud entity of the housing construction for 50 000 families in Pyongyang, decided by the Eighth WPK Congress.
The General Secretary proposed building a world-class terraced residential quarter in the picturesque area of the Pothong River to provide the working citizens with a luxury residential quarter, a new springboard in the development of architecture, and personally guided the whole process of construction as a designer, builder and operator.
The construction of terraced residential quarters was successfully carried out by the desire of the General Secretary, who is leading the Juche architecture to a steady leap forward as a great pioneer and creator for the people's ideal.
In February 2022, he attended a ground-breaking ceremony for building 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area to clearly indicate the orientation and ways for pushing ahead with the housing construction.
After all, another ideal street for the people came into being under the distinguished guidance of the peerlessly great man and thanks to the strength of the great generation determined to create a new history of prosperity and development in the era of the Workers' Party on the basis of self-development.
The second-stage 10 000 flats in Hwasong area and Jonwi Street sprang up again amid the daily-changing appearance of Pyongyang. They are a grand monumental edifice in the great era of Kim Jong Un , an outcome of the far-reaching plan and energetic leadership of the Party Central Committee which set the housing construction as the primary policy task.
The eye-opening reality, in which magnificent streets have appeared annually to show the rosy future of socialist Korea, is an epochal change brought about by the WPK's unique people-first political idea and an evident proof of the DPRK's valiant mettle. -0-
