A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union organizations was held at the Changdok School on the 14th in celebration of the 112th birth anniversary of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.
Present there were students of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, the delegates of Children's Union organizations from the provinces, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and the pupils to join the Korean Children's Union.
Invited to the meeting were Kim Su Gil, Chief Secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Tu Song, Department Director of the Central Committee of the WPK, youth league officials and meritorious persons in the city.
Before the meeting, the participants laid a floral basket and bouquets in front of the bronze statue of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung at the Changdok School and paid tribute to him.
Mun Chol, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report.
He said Generalissimo Kim Il Sung formed the Korean Children's Union on the basis of his idea on the Juche-oriented children's movement and rich experience gained during the anti-Japanese war and called its members the masters to shoulder the future of the country.
He stressed that the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il newly instituted the slogan of the Children's Union and trained its members as true sons and daughters infinitely loyal to the socialist motherland.
The history of noble love continues on this land thanks to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who kindly leads the Children's Union members to grow to be ardent young revolutionaries and patriots, the reporter added.
An accession ceremony to the Korean Children' Union was held at the meeting.
Led by Chief Secretary Kim Su Gil, the pupils joining the Children's Union made an oath.
The pupils who joined the Korean Children's Union raised their hands in salute, loudly responding to the slogan "Let's always be ready for the socialist motherland!".
Then, congratulatory speeches were made.
