Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- The Social Confederation of Koreans in Russia held events on the occasion of the 112th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung .
Members of the association laid a floral basket before an art piece depicting President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the DPRK embassy in Moscow on April 11 and paid tribute to them.
A celebration meeting was held by the association in Moscow on April 12.
Present there were Kim Chil Song, chairman of the association, and its members.
Speakers said at the meeting that the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung defeated two imperialisms in one generation and thoroughly embodied the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance that a country should be built by its own efforts, thus making sure that the DPRK could develop into a socialist power despite sanctions and pressure imposed by the imperialists.
They noted that Kim Il Sung is a peerless elder statesman praised and followed by the world people and an outstanding leader who made distinguished contributions to the cause of global independence and laid a firm foundation for the development of the DPRK-Russia friendly relations in particular.
They said that the noble desire of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il has been successfully realized thanks to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un .
Then followed an art performance.
The Social Confederation of Koreans in Uzbekistan held a meeting on April 13 on the same occasion.
Ko Tae Chun, chairperson of the association, made a speech.
He said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has built the DPRK into the most powerful state on the globe and an ideal society of the people by carrying forward the cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il .
That day, members of the association gave a performance on the occasion. -0-
