Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- The 2024 Spring National Sports Festival closed in the DPRK.
Men and women players of the Amnokgang Sports Team, the Pyongyang Sports Team, the Chongchongang Sports Team, the Amnokgang Defence Sports Team and the Samilpho Defence Sports Team set ten new national records in weightlifting, shooting and track-and-field events of the festival.
The April 25 Players Team took the first place in men's football and men's and women's basketball and volleyball events, and the Pyongyang Municipal Taekwon-Do Team and the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Team in men's and women's team sparring events respectively.
A closing ceremony took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street here on April 18.
Present there were Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Kim Myong Gun, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, officials in the field of sports, sportspersons and citizens of Pyongyang.
New record medals were awarded to those players who set new national records in the festival, and trophies and medals to the successful teams and players.
