Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- The Eleventh Sports Contest among Public Health Workers opened in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.
The sports contest will be held at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and other places of the city, divided into two groups. Competitions are to be made in such events as basketball (men), volleyball (men and women), table tennis, tennis, badminton, tug-of-war and Taekwon-Do.
An opening ceremony took place at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on Friday.
Present there were Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Tong Myong, officials concerned, officials and players in the field of public health, and employees of central-level hospitals and the Academy of Medical Science.
Pak Hak Gyong, vice-minister of Public Health, made an opening address.
At the end of the ceremony, there was a men's volleyball game between the Namsan Hospital team and the Okryu Children's Hospital team. -0-
