Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- State commendations were awarded to the players and coaches, who proved successful at the 22nd Taekwon-Do World Championships, and merited members concerned.
A ceremony of awarding state commendations took place at the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee and relevant units.
Present there were Kim Myong Gun, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, officials concerned and officials, players, coaches and researchers in the field of Taekwon-Do.
A decree of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK was conveyed at the ceremony.
Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize was conferred on Ko Kum Gang, a player of the Pyongyang Municipal Taekwon-Do Team, Pak Ryon Song, a player of the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Team, and Kim Ju Hyang, a player of the South Hamgyong Provincial Taekwon-Do Team, and Kim Il Sung Children Honor Prize on Jang Song Yong, a student of Jongphyong Senior Middle School in Phyongchon District of Pyongyang, Kim Su Ryon, a student of Unha Senior Middle School in Sariwon City of North Hwanghae Province, and Kim Su Ryon, a student of Sinphung Senior Middle School in Wonsan City of Kangwon Province.
The title of People's Athlete went to Wang Myong Guk, a player of the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Team, Ro Kuk Hwa, a player of the Kangwon Provincial Taekwon-Do Team, and Ri Chol Rim, a coach of the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Team, and the title of Merited Athlete to Kim Wi Ryong, a player of the North Phyongan Provincial Taekwon-Do Team and 13 other players and coaches.
Order of Labor was awarded to one person, Order of National Flag Second Class to 18 persons, Order of National Flag Third Class to 24 persons and Medal of Merit to seven persons. -0-
