Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- Meetings, photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Laos, Myanmar, Syria, Thailand, Pakistan, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Britain, the Czech Republic, Finland and Nigeria between March 30 and April 13 to mark the 112th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Present at the events were personages of political and social circles and masses of those countries. Screened at the film shows were a film recording the noble popular life of the President and videos dealing with the reverence of all people for him. Speeches were made at the events. The general secretary of the Syrian Communist Party (Unified) praised the great President Kim Il Sung as the prominent leader representing the 20th century and the greatest man who rendered material and moral support to the struggle of the peoples of the countries aspiring after independence and justice. The chairperson of the Switzerland-Korea Committee praised Kim Il Sung as the founder of socialist Korea, benefactor of Korea's liberation, iron-willed brilliant commander and benevolent father of the people. The chairperson of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association and the secretary general of the Society for the Promotion of the Relations between Austria and DPRK lauded Kim Il Sung as the eternal leader of the Korean people and peerlessly elder statesman who made great contributions to accomplishing the cause of global independence. The chairperson of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that one of the great exploits of President Kim Il Sung was that he built socialism centered on the popular masses based on the Juche idea, not on the pattern of any other country. The general secretary of the New Communist Party of Britain said that he visited the DPRK and had the honor of meeting Kim Il Sung. Echoed at the event held in Laos were voices of praising the undying feats performed by the President for the liberation of the country, the defence of its sovereignty and the building of socialism, the international position of the DPRK growing stronger day by day, expecting that the Korean people would achieve greater success in building a powerful socialist country, and wishing for the eternal relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Laos. The chairman of the Friendship Society Norway-Korea, the chairperson of the Finland-Korea Society, the honorary chairman and chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association and the chief of the Danish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea extended invariable support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for ushering in a new era of changes in socialist construction and dynamically accelerating the building of a powerful country under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events held in Switzerland and Denmark.
