It was several years ago when Sin Song Il started his career as an instructor at Central District Extracurricular Juvenile Sports School in the capital city of Pyongyang.
But he enjoys good reputation for his high credentials in training students.
While in training, he found out something wrong with young students’ posture in running.
To help them alter their posture, he made exacting demands on them under training, making them relentlessly practising such rudiments as arm swinging, knee lifting and footing while running.
In particular, he ensured that they had a better understanding of the importance of taking a good starting and practised it through constant training.
He gave scientific instructions on the relations between the first and last speeds of the runners and the space between them when they handed over and received the baton.
Besides, he made sure that they watched videos showing field and track matches to find out their shortcomings, and properly organized amusement games such as ball-snatching and tail-catching to help them promote their persistence and keep interested in training.
He wrote a paper on boosting the repulsive energy for athletes.
His efforts began to pay off.
His students took the first place in the 100m race of the junior event at the 55th National Juvenile Sports School Competition and set a new national junior record in 4×100m relay at last year’s 59th National Juvenile Sports School Competition.
