Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- On the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, the first revolutionary armed forces of Juche type, the Korean people are reverently recollecting the exploits of the century performed by President Kim Il Sung in leading the great anti-Japanese war to victory with his outstanding military strategic and tactical ideas and extraordinary commanding art.

In his speech "On the Occasion of Founding the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army" at the founding ceremony of the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army on April 25, Juche 21 (1932), the President clarified it as the basic principle of guerrilla warfare to severely destroy the enemy forces while preserving the guerrilla army to the maximum and set forth the idea of creating new guerrilla tactics one by one.

From the first day of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, the guerrilla tactics created by the President provided a decisive guarantee for overwhelming the numerically and technically superior enemy by means of strategic and tactical superiority and always taking the initiative in the confrontation with the enemy and winning victory after victory.

The battle on the border between Antu and Fusong Counties In June 1932 was a triumphant battle in which the guerrillas totally destroyed the Japanese imperialist aggressor forces, who ran into them by combining strong firepower with a counterattack, shattering the myth of the mightiness of the Japanese imperialists who boasted of being "invincible" for the first time in the history of guerrilla warfare.

The battle to defend the Xiaowangqing guerrilla zone clearly showed the rare military wisdom and distinguished commanding art of the President, who dealt a heavy blow to the enemies hell-bent on "punitive operations" of the guerrilla bases by applying the elastic tactics made up of skilful maneuvers, surprise fire strike, assault, ambush and striking the enemy from the rear.

In the battles at the gateway to Heixiazigou, Taoquanli and Rimyong Stream in late 1936 and early 1937, a large number of Japanese invaders were killed in the mysterious ambush by the anti-Japanese guerrillas.

The telescope tactics, created and actively applied by the President, brought brilliant victories in many battles including the Xiaodeshui battle, Hongtushanzi battle and Fuhoushui tableland battle.

The battle of Fusong county town to which the tactic of appearing now in the east and now in the west in a flash was applied ended in the guerillas' triumphant victory.

The tactic of marching a long distance at a step, with which the KPRA, in broad daylight, marched along the Kapsan-Musan guard road laid by the Japanese imperialists in May 1939, and the tactic of circling, with which they continued to circle a vast area surprising the enemy with various tactics before disappearing, were all created by the President.

Besides, the tactic of alluring a large unit of the enemy with a small unit to tire and divide the enemy before striking and other brilliant flexible tactics were handed down among the people as legendary stories.

The Juche-based guerrilla warfare tactics created by the President were an all-powerful treasured sword that made it possible to defeat the Japanese imperialist aggressors, armed to the teeth, with strategic and tactical superiority.

Thanks to the mysterious guerrilla tactics which drove into a tight corner the millions of Japanese imperialist troops, the anti-Japanese armed struggle ended with the great victory of the Korean people and the historic cause of national liberation could be successfully achieved. -0-
