Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- The Korean people are significantly celebrating the 92nd founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army (KPRA).
President Kim Il Sung founded the KPRA, the first revolutionary armed forces of Juche type, with excellent sons and daughters of the people on April 25, Juche 21 (1932).
The founding of the KPRA was a great, historic event that declared a death-defying anti-imperialist resistance under the uplifted banner of national liberation and independence by dint of self-reliance and opened up a new era of the Juche revolution relying on the powerful revolutionary armed forces.
It also materialized the strong desire of the Korean people to have their own genuine army and made it possible to create the ever-victorious history of the Korean revolution firmly defending the national sovereignty and dignity against the imperialist aggressor forces.
Its most important significance is that a revolutionary army led by the President was formed and a political and military guarantee provided to fully ensure the leader’s leadership over the overall Korean revolution.
Thanks to the arduous yet heroic struggle of the KPRA organized and led by the President, the historic cause of national liberation could be accomplished on August 15, 1945.
The anti-Japanese armed struggle taught the iron truth that the destiny of the country and nation and the happiness and future of the people are guaranteed by powerful arms.
Since their birth in the forests of Paektu, the Korean revolutionary armed forces have grown to be the strongest revolutionary army capable of tackling any modern warfare in the long course of waging guerrilla and regular wars and performing a confrontation like a phony war so far.
April 25, the birthday of the KPRA, is a day of historic significance in building the DPRK's revolutionary armed forces and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche. -0-
