The 37th National Festival of Science and Technology opened under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
The festival on the theme of “Sci-tech guarantee for attaining 12 major goals and implementing Regional Development 20×10 Policy” has brought together over 1 500 officials, scientists and technicians from commissions, ministries and national agencies and all provinces (cities under the direct control of the government).
On display at the festival are sci-tech achievements made in the course of developing the national economy and proposals helpful to implementing the regional industry development policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea mainly in the form of actual object, model and operable exhibit.
During the festival, there will be sci-tech achievement presentations, seminars and exchanges of science and technology including new technical products exchange service.
Its opening ceremony took place at the Sci-Tech Complex in Pyongyang on April 26.
Present there were Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Choe Tong Myong, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Sung Jin, president of the State Academy of Sciences, Kim Sung Du, minister of Education, relevant officials and working people.
After the ceremony, the participants looked round the festival venue.
