The Fifth National Meeting of Heads of the Branch Social Security Stations was held at the April 25 House of Culture in Pyongyang between April 30 and May 1.

The meeting reviewed the work of the past 10-odd years after the Fourth Meeting of Heads of the Branch Social Security Stations and discussed concrete practical ways to bring about a revolutionary turn in the public security service as a whole by fundamentally innovating the services of the branch social security stations, direct combat units of the public security organ and main bases for safeguarding the people.

Present there were Kim Hyong Sik, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Thae Sop, Minister of Public Security, Sim Hong Bin, Director of the Political Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, the heads of the branch social security stations and exemplary security officers across the country, leading officials of the provincial, city and county security organs and other officials concerned with the services of the branch social security stations.

The national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was solemnly played.

Ri Thae Sop made a report.

He said the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clarified an original idea on the public security services run through with the Party's outlook on the masses and people and brightly indicated the principles and policies of struggle to be maintained in the public security services in every period of the developing revolution, and continued:

All the security officers have keenly felt the noble revolutionary world of Kim Jong Un who leads them step by step to have the standpoint that the people are the precious beings to be safeguarded with their lives and they are the most powerful motive force of the public security services. In the course of it, they had a deep understanding of the philosophical principle that the weapon of class struggle must be forged thoroughly with the ardent love for the people.

For the public security officers, loyalty and patriotism are the devoted and self-sacrificing efforts which which they have to devote their lives to the people without hesitation. All of them should keep the Party's policy on public security services as their firm faith and make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of our great state and people, the political security of the socialist country and the happiness of the people, he stressed.

Then speeches were made. The speakers expressed their firm resolve to decisively improve and strengthen the services of the branch social security stations and firmly defend the politico-ideological position and the class position and thus remain loyal to the sacred mission and duty of safeguarding the revolution, the system and the people.
