A national meeting was held at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang on May 1 to commemorate the 134th anniversary of the May Day, an international holiday of the working people of the whole world.
Present there were officials of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies, and officials, labour innovators and working people of the industrial establishments in Pyongyang.
The rostrum was taken by Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and other senior officials of the Party and the government.
When the meeting was declared open, the national anthem of the DPRK was solemnly played.
Premier Kim Tok Hun made a report.
In the report, he, upon authorization of the Party Central Committee and the government of the DPRK, warmly congratulated the entire working people including workers, farmers and intellectuals across the country who are working devotedly to hasten a bright future of our great state with faith in sure victory and optimism about our cause, strong revolutionary spirit and indomitable will on the occasion of the May Day, an international holiday of the working people of the whole world.
He said the proud course of our working people, who have grown to be masters of their own destiny and vigorously advanced along the road of socialist construction under the guidance of the great leaders, is taking the most brilliant position in the history of long struggle of the working people of the whole world for getting the rights of independent life.
He stressed that the new era of the Juche revolution, an era of the overall development of socialism led by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, is a glorious era in which our working people enjoy the most dignified and happiest life in the world.
The working people of Juche Korea will, in the future, too, discharge their responsible mission in strengthening friendship, cooperation, unity and solidarity with the working people of the whole world and building a just and peaceful new world, he said and added that the Korean working people will demonstrate the high dignity and heroic stamina all over the world and bring earlier a bright future through patriotic labour thanks to the great people-first politics and ever-victorious guidance of the WPK.
The meeting ended with the playing of the "Internationale".
