In the DPRK modern farmhouses are built followed by house moving across the country every year.
Keeping turning all rural villages across the country into a rich and modern socialist paradise as his cherished desire and regarding it as an important undertaking he should do for the prosperity and development of the country and for the rising generations, Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, unfolded a grand plan for rural house construction and indicated in detail the orientation and ways to that end at the Eighth Congress of the WPK and the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.
Under his leadership, strong commanding forces for the construction of farmhouses were organized ranging from the capital to provinces, cities and counties, it was formulated as a policy and law for the state to provide all cities and counties with cement for rural house construction on a regular basis every year so as to firmly guarantee their implementation and each region formed a powerful construction force.
Under the state concern, the plans of modern and diversified rural houses preserving regional characteristics were completed and introduced according to coastal, lowland and mountainous areas, and thus such houses are under construction all across the country.
Last year alone, new entities of the modern socialist countryside appeared one after another at the foot of Mt Paektu.
The Songjon Farm in Kim Jong Suk County, the Jiksol Livestock Farm in Kim Hyong Gwon County, the Kasan Farm in Pochon County and other farms witnessed the completion of apartment houses retaining the localities’ own characteristics. The houses with original characteristics in different forms in one village were flawlessly furnished with living rooms, kitchen, bathroom, warehouse and others.
A picturesque village of modern houses that suit the local terrain conditions has appeared at the Kangdong Greenhouse Complex recently built in the suburbs of Pyongyang.
Spectacular is the original greenhouse city, a farm city, with modern greenhouses in unique styles surrounded by over 1 200 multi- and low-storey and terraced apartment houses, a nursery, kindergarten, school and polyclinic going well with natural scenery, which show the reality of the country bringing earlier the future of a prosperous and powerful country.
