Action Speaks Louder than Words: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- There is a string of rhetoric spouted by the U.S. rulers styling themselves "apostle of peace". "The U.S. has no hostile intention towards the DPRK." But the U.S. behavior is too shameless to blind the world people with such mere words "there is no hostile intention" as it is devoid of respect for the sovereignty and social system of the other party and guarantee for genuine right to development and peace. Daily Mail, a British newspaper, said days ago that the U.S. air force deployed more than 100 missiles for destroying or neutralizing the nuclear facilities, various military bases and missile systems of the DPRK. The missiles will reportedly be used to launch an EMP attack on not only the DPRK but also China and Russia in contingency, mounted on B-52 nuclear strategic bombers, drones and others. The U.S. already staged "combined joint formation drill" with its ROK puppets, where they conducted training for making precision strike at the "core target" in the DPRK by mobilizing even MQ-9 Reaper, the air combat drone, for the first time. What should not be overlooked is the fact that during the Freedom Shield joint military exercises in March this year, they conducted training according to the new OPLAN 2022 which made it a fait accompli to make a preemptive attack on the core facilities and areas of the DPRK, and designated more than 25 000 major objects in the DPRK as the first targets of strike in contingency and worked out a list of them. In addition, the U.S. has actively promoted the nuke modernization such as the development, production and deployment of new-type intercontinental ballistic missile LGM-35A Sentinel, new-type nuclear bomb B61-13 and Stealth nuclear strategic bomber B-21 Raider under the pretext of coping with so-called "nuclear threat" from the DPRK, China and Russia, and officially approved the operational use of the modified version of B61-12 tactical nuclear bomb in the end of last year. Against this backdrop, the large-scale joint military exercises Ulji Freedom Shield planned for August are already called "nuclear attack drills" in view of the prevailing situation and its nature. The August joint military exercises aimed at finally perfecting and fully implementing the nuclear war plan like OPLAN 2022 by introducing ultra-modern military hardware, including nuclear strategic assets, clearly prove that "no hostile intention" often touted by the U.S. is deceptive hypocrisy. The "nuclear strike drill," which set the DPRK as the main target and will be staged near its southern border can go over to an actual war any time in any way. Such unpredictable situation tells us that we should believe in our own strength absolutely overwhelming the enemies, not their words. If the U.S. tries to test our strength and will through such provocations as large-scale joint military exercises in collusion with its stooges, it should first ponder over the disastrous consequences to be entailed by it. We judge whether the U.S. has any hostile intention towards us or not by its action, not by its words.
